From a Bowling Club to a Football Training Ground. The Sports Training Ground was previously the Parkeston Railway Club Bowling Green. Unfortunately due to declining membership the Bowls Club was forced to close in 2017. Rather than let this facility got to weed, Bill Davidson, Chairman of the Welfare Park requested permission to take over the lease and operate the facility as a sports training ground.
